Gynecologic Oncology

Diagnostic and treatment procedures for gynaecological oncological diseases are available at New Hospitals, using state-of-the-art methods and following international guidelines. Laparoscopic, laparotomy and surgical approaches are used for treatment procedures.

Service areas

  • Partial or radical vulvectomy (excision of the vulva) and inguinal lymphodissection (lymph node excision) are performed for malignant vulval tumours. The treatment method is chosen according to international guidelines, depending on the patient's condition and the tumour's stage.
  • Radical hysterectomy (excision of the uterus) is performed for cervical malignancies; in advanced cases, chemo radiotherapy or exenteration is performed.
  • Hysterectomy with or without lymphodissection with laparoscopic and laparotomic (surgical) approach (with pelvic and para-aortic lymphodissection) is performed for malignant tumours of the uterine body.
Omentectomy (resection of fatty tissue) or hysterectomy (with pelvic lymph dissection and para-aortic lymph dissection) is performed in malignant ovarian tumours; cytoreductive surgery is also performed
