Maxillofacial arthroscopic surgery

For the first time in the South Caucasus, New Hospitals is offering diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopic procedures on the temporomandibular joint, as well as arthrocentesis (removal of fluid from the joint).

Therapeutic Arthroscopy

Arthroscopic procedures are performed when there are injuries or pathological changes in the joint; also, for cysts and inflammation. During the procedure, a small incision is made, and the surgeon works with modern equipment - an arthroscope equipped with a video camera that allows him to watch the operation.

Diagnostic Arthroscopy

During diagnostic procedures, an endoscopic examination is performed, and the joints are examined using arthroscopy, which allows for examining the extent of the damage and making a diagnosis.

Diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopy can be used to treat chronic and acute arthritis, arthrosis, “snapping joint”, painful dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint, ankylosis, etc.
