Ultrasound

Ultrasound diagnostics in modern medicine is an indispensable, fast and non-invasive method, which is more affordable than other radiological examinations.

Ultrasound diagnostics is a study based on high-frequency waves, which allows you to get a structural image of internal organs and soft tissues, thanks to which you can distinguish between normality and pathology. Ultrasonography, along with high informativeness, is also a safe and painless research method.

The examination practically does not require special restrictions, except that during an ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity, in particular, to assess the state of the gallbladder and pancreas, it is desirable to be on an empty stomach.

Ultrasound diagnostics is recommended once every 6 months or at least once a year as a preventive study, which helps detect pathology early on.

In New Hospitals a wide range of ultrasound examinations is carried out:

  • Abdominal organs examinations (liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen);
  • Examination of the urinary system (kidneys, bladder, prostate gland, seminal glands);
  • Thyroid examinations;
  • Breast examinations;
  • Examination of peripheral lymph nodes;
  • Soft tissue examinations;
  • Salivary gland examinations;
  • Gynecologic (uterus and appendages) examinations: abdominal and vaginal approach;
  • Pediatric examinations;
  • Pleural cavity examinations;
  • Examination of joints (knee, hip, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, temporomandibular, sternoclavicular) (in adolescents and newborns) and surrounding structures;
  • Ultrasonography of peripheral nerves (median, ulnar, radial, sciatic, tibial and peroneal);
  • Duplex scanning of blood vessels (arteries and veins) of the upper and lower extremities;
  • Duplex scanning of extracranial blood vessels;
  • Examination of the eye and eye socket;
  • Small invasive interventions in the form of puncture biopsies under ultrasound control;
  • Echocardiography - transthoracic and transesophageal.
